Mikael Börjeson
Chairman of the Board of Directors

Born 1955. Holds a position as CEO for Centre for Distance-Spanning Technology CDT - a joint academy-industry centre for IT/Telecom research, development and innovation, hosted by Luleå University of Technology.

Mikael examined as MSc in Luleå, Sweden 1979. Former professional positions include systems development (LKAB Prospektering 1979-1986), head of department R&D (SEMA 1986-1989 and Ericsson 1989-1996) and R&D centre management (CDT 1997-).

Mikael Sundström
Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Directors

Born 1967. Founded Oricane AB in 2006 after spending more than 6 years in R&D building the core technology portfolio of the company and filing the initial 4 patent applications.

Mikael receieved his Ph.D. in 2007, at Luleå University of Technology (LTU), Sweden, and is a faculty member at the department of Computer Science and Engineering, at LTU. Former professional positions include CTO and CEO of Rockstorm Technology AB, co-founded by Mikael in 2000, and CTO of Effnet Group AB 1999-2000.

Extremely passionate with strong and broadly applicable analytical skills. Guru in Algorithmic Engineering.

Johan Strömberg
Corporate Lawyer and Member of the Board of Directors


Born 1958, CEO of Advokatfirman NORDIA, based in Stockholm, co-worker since 1988 and partner since 1991.

Johan is an expert on banking and finance, commercial law, litigation and arbitration, damages and insurance, and, sports and entertainment.

Erik Lundgren
Chief Technology Officer

Born 1970. Joined Oricane AB in January 2009. Erik holds a M.Sc. in Computer Communication from Luleå University of Technology (LTU), Sweden.

Previous positions include Protocol Architect NetSocket inc., Operax CTO Office, V.P. Rockstorm Technology AB and CTO Effnet Group (together with Mikael Sundström).

Erik has 10 years of router/firewall experience. He has also been involved in standardization and industry forums including the MultiService Forum (MSF), Broadband Forum (formerly DSLForum), ETSI TISPAN and 3GPP. He is currently working with IMS/NGN standardization as part of a Specialist Task Force for RACS signaling in the ETSI TISPAN architecture v.2.

Torbjörn Hahn
Vice President, Business Development

Born 1940. Joined Oricane AB in September 2008. Torbjörn received his Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1966 from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.

Torbjörn has been working around 40 years with IT in different positions in small and large companies. Among the larger ones are IBM, ICL, Ericsson and TeliaSonera. Torbjörn has international experience from Europe, Asia, and Australia. Previous positions has been within project management and business development where he has extensive knowledge. He has experience of managing 3-90 employees. Other assignments are board member, chairman of board, and CEO of several companies.

Torbjörn has received two TeliaSonera awards and one professional excellence award at IBM.

Dr. Craig Partridge
Technical Advisor


Dr. Craig Partridge is a Chief Scientist at BBN Technologies and works in the Internetwork Research Department. Craig has worked on internetworking problems at BBN for twenty years. Notable bits of work include designing how Internet email is routed, working with Phil Karn on TCP round-trip time estimation, and designing and building the world's fastest router in the mid-1990s.

Craig received his A.B., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University.

 Josefine Åhl
Algorithm Designer


Born 1982. Joined Oricane AB in September 2007 in order to do her Master Thesis after spending four years of studies to become a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics and two additional years of studies in Mathematics and Algorithms. Became employee and partner at Oricane AB in 2007. Filed one patent application in 2008 regarding her master thesis.

Josefine received her Master Degree in 2008 from Luleå University of Technology (LTU), Sweden. During all of her studies she also worked as a Science Educator and Technician for the House of Technology in Luleå.

Magnus Holm
Project Manager


Born 1975, Luleå. Magnus joined Oricane in February 2008. He has a solid scientific background with a Master of Science Degree in Engineering Physics and a Licentiate of Science Degree in Quantum Physics and Nanotechnology at Lund Institute of Technology. His research focused on energy-minimizing functions for computational physics applied to sub-micron scale artificial structures. Most of his work was performed running very optimized and efficient heavy-duty computer calculations on the supercomputer facility at Lund Institute of Technology. He has several papers published in distinguished international research journals, including Physical Review of American Physical Society. After finishing his research in Lund in 2004 he joined a company within the Telecommunication Software Industry, where he gained a lot of experience from working with international companies such as Samsung and Panasonic. He is also an entrepreneur with experience in several areas of business.

 Camilla Isaksson
Algorithm Designer

Born 1981. Joined Oricane in November 2007. Camilla recieved her Master of Science Degree in software design in 2006 from Luleå University of Technology, Sweden. She did her Master Thesis in another Luleå company, Intinor, where she created a web interface for a set-top-box. Worked one year in a company as a web consultant and then moved along to Oricane for the possibility to do more challenging and interesting work.

Robin Mellberg
Algorithm Designer


Born 1983. A talented student with extensive programming experience currently studying to become a Software Engineer at Luleå University of Technology. Robin joined Oricane AB in October 2007 in order to work on a project between Oricane and a company in the mobile phone industry. During the project, which ended successfully in June 2008, he studied the possibilities to use memory efficient algorithms and data structures on mobile devices. During the academic year 2007/2008 he held a position as board member in the Student Association of Engineering at Luleå University of Technology. He worked mainly with internal IT questions and the flow of information to the members. The association has over 4000 members and an annual revenue of seven million SEK. Robin will begin doing his Master Thesis at Oricane in 2009.
